Take My Hand Counseling Ministries provides volunteer services for the Celebrate Recovery program and Anger Management classes at the Carol S. Vance Unit near Sugar Land, Texas.  The InnerChange Freedom Initiative (IFI) program at the Vance Unit is a Christian, faith-based curriculum operated by Prison Fellowship Ministries that uses no public funds.

IFI participants enter the program within 18-24 months of anticipated release from prison.  These men will be returning to free society.  The program is completely voluntary for the inmates.  They may withdraw from the program at any time they wish.  The aim of IFI is to change the hearts and minds of these men so that they abandon old ways and walk a new Christian life.  Graduates of IFI are significantly less likely to commit crimes again and return to prison than the state-wide average for all TDJC prisoners.   Volunteers lead recovery groups, teach classes, and act as counselors and mentors for the prisoners.
